Cause for Concern
The US shows the world a pair of tied hands, then turns away to wipe lips salivating war.
For months the world has watched bombs crush Gaza, and it has long been enough. What are we left to think? Is it not that easy? To make all-tillary vanish, what then? They fight over rocks. You leave us no choice, your motives transparent, you want the war, it is in your nature. In a world profiting off war, Israel is the golden goose.
After listening to a recent interview with Antony Lowenstein, an independent journalist, it all kinda clicked. Israel has fought to survive since its inception, in doing so has developed weapon technologies the rest of the world is eager to buy. When given the opportunity to play with your new toys, it is easy to get carried away and end up with a few war crimes on your hands. In rooms where the world is made, money speaks the loudest. War, the embodiment of market principles, out with the old in with the new. “Don’t be so attached” recedes from the passing train pulling carriages of profits set to disappear in or around Lake Geneva. How far does the track reach? Did we miss the switch? Is derailment all that’s left? Ancient problems made worse by modern solutions.
Clare Daly, an Irish member of the European Parliament referred to the President as, “Butcher Biden,” this week at a plenary session in Strasbourg. The United States continues to choose egg on its face over any meaningful attempt to do right by history.
Last week Pro-Palestine protests were held at various NYC bridges blocking traffic and disrupting the morning. This story was covered by Breaking Points where Krystal called these people heroes for having the courage to protest and raise awareness about the Palestinian suffering. These protesters are not heroes, and their compassion is diluted to radio static. These people block traffic to make themselves feel good, so they can feel like they’re making a difference. Yes, it made the news, the desired attention was generated. But this approach goes against how people think, I go close to guarantee no one impacted by these protests came away feeling like they need to do more for the cause. If they’re like most people they’re mad at why it took longer to get where they were going, and while some may sympathize with the cause, inconveniencing people doesn’t leave a positive impression, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Hamas might as well recruit some of the hostages while they have them. See, doesn’t make sense. This style of protests takes innocent people hostage and is dumb. I will fight for your right to protest, but not at the expense of the freedom of others.
We are living through history, no doubt. What will come next, only we can decide.
Love & Peace
